FitTrainer is an aid for cardio interval training, a type of training which involves alternating high intensity exercise and makes workouts more fun. By starting this training program you can:
- supercharge your fitness,
- boost your metabolism,
- accelerate weight loss,
- improve your bodys ability to burn fat,
- make your workouts more time efficient (only 20 minutes), and
- finally start reaching your goals.
The training routine has four sets of intensity increasing intervals. Each interval lasts 1 minute and each set lasts 4 minutes. You start your workout at low intensity (the 1st interval of the 1st set) and then you gradually increase intensity through the 2nd, 3rd and 4th interval in accordance with your current ability. The last interval in the last set is where you really push your body to the limits. This is where you improve. Push as hard as you can, but only for one minute. There is 2 minutes long worm-up interval before the beginning and 2 minutes long cool-down interval at the end. This makes 20 minutes of workout, altogether, and there is no need to do any other exercises during the whole day.
The intensity is measured on a scale of 1 to 10, 1 being no effort whatsoever while 10 represents the maximum effort possible. So intensity 1 is more or less standing still, 5 is a light jog and 10 is running as if a wild animal was chasing you. As an example consider someone who has not exercised for a while and decides to do interval training by walking. A 1 minute walk at a brisk pace may leave the person completely out of breath. This would be his 10. The workout begins at an intensity of 6 out of 10. Each set excluding the last ends off at an intensity 9. This should be almost as fast as you can go for a minute. The last interval of the last set ends off with 10. It requires all the energy you have.
Workouts should be done cyclically, every second day, allowing your body to rest between the workout days. For best results, you must do aerobic activity in the morning on an empty stomach. Note that this workout can be done on any cardio machine (row machine, treadmill, bike, stair climber, etc.) or outside.
The training intervals are monitored on the display in portrait or in landscape mode (see screen-shots).
There are some additional settings, which allow to customize FitTrainer to your personal preferences like: dimming screen on inactivity, beep at the start of each interval, volume, required cardio machine settings for each interval in accordance with your abilities, and custom music playlist (up to 5 sound tracks located in your music library).
Please note that if you set Dim screen to ON and no music is selected in the playlist, the application will stop working (time will not advance) after the devices screen dims.
